BABIY KECAP

Ok! This is the third dish!My mom really wants me to inherit her cooking skill I think..hehe..
She said not many people able to make this dish, as they are afraid the many steps they have to get through to get the dish on their table. INDEED they are rightt!
It's not my cup of tea actually, but there's nothing wrong on learning something special right? =)

Ingredients :
- The longest pork fat you can get out of the market
- Salted vegie
- Mushroom
- Pork fillet
- 10 garlics
- Cooking wine, about 10 spoons
- Salt
- Soy sauce
- Broth powder

How to cook :

- Cut the pork fat into fry-able pieces. Get some holes into the skin to get bubbly surface.
- Deep fry them. (Watch the oil cause it will doubled up in minutes-->scaryy)
- After it's brown already, soak them in tea water so they will bloom a bit.

In other pot,
- Get the onions into the oil until they have browned.
- Put in the pork fillet, close the pot, then put in the mushroom and cooking wine, then close the pot so the fragrance will come out.
- Put in the salted vegie, and soy sauce, close the pot
- Put in broth powder, the already cut pork-fat and put some more soysauce.
- Close the pot in medium fire, check2.
- After the water drains out, put in some water.
Then boil it...

BABIY MERAH

As this is my "accidentally" day-off from the office. Here is my mom's other dish. Of course she asked me to do all the step by myself. Unfortunately, it didnt turn out pretty well. I over burnt it..nyeeahh..=(

BOLA-BOLA BUMBU KECAP

So, this is a series about mom's home cooking. The first one is this meatball with bumbu semur. Thinking about making subway out of this meatball =)

Ingredients:
- Shallots
- Onion
- 1 tsp coriander
- Salt
- Jeruk limau 4-5

How to cook :
Grind them altogether, and saute them until the fragrance comes out. Put sweet soy-sauce, wait until it's boiled. Then, put all the meat.
If it's not sweet enough, add brown sugar. Taste accordingly.

I MISS BAKING PASTRIES IN MELBOURNEE

I found a picture of my customized picnic roll which I often made back in Melbourne.
I put sausages, mayo, spinach, cheese, boiled egg, and chili sauce.
Never found the same pastry sheet here, and if there is some in the supermarket, the price is so crazy.
It's like 5 times more expensive than in Melbourne.

To Aldrich, who loved my baked pastry so much and his mom, whom is said to admire my pastry..haha

I got the photo for you..=)

MAD FOR MACARONI SCHOTEL

I'M STILL SO CURIOUS WITH MAKING A GREAT MACARONI SCHOTEL...Why?? Because it seems like the standard cooking of cooks and everyone can make a great one..why wouldn't I ?
Yesterday, I used all the proper ingredients..proper mozarella cheese..and baked until golden yellow.
I brought it to the bible study and they said they loved it.. Dunno whether they just want to be polite or not, but they finished 3/4 of the pan. BRAVO!

CHOCOLATE COOKIES

Baked this 2 days ago..It was weird as the dough melted more than I thought and it filled the whole oven rack.. but it turned out to be cute square cookies..hohoho

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEEE...

Happy 23rd birthday again to me..!!
Yesterday I had a superb birthday,,cause when i thought that there wouldn't be any surprise plan for me,,someone bought me a cake and bunch of flower. And a live "happy birthday" song right at 12 am..And also a hand sketch of me. How nice of them. And my birthday was celebrated with a family dinner. Speaking about the dinner, my mom cooked my favorite foods ; salty fish with beansprouts, nasi campur, lemon chicken, curry chicken, empal,  fried meatball, and of course the legendary of my mom's fried noodle.

And the cake..! Green tea and lemon cheese cake..It's very nice but once I chewed it, I felt the cream..and the fat... Such a guilty pleasure!hehe..

MACARONI SCHOTEL TRIAL

Two days ago, I challenged myself to make a superb macaroni schotel.
I wanted to get out of the curse of "damn, whatever I made in Jakarta has never been right". I remember that I could make one in Melbourne that got "hm..it's nice" from everyone..hohoho...
So, I bought corned beef and macaroni...layered them..

And it turned out to be.........

Too much corned beef on the top layer, I should have mixed all the ingredient first then bake it..
And voilaa..!! It tasted much more delicious...

So the ingredients will be :
- 250 gr macaroni
- 1 can of corned beef
- 1 onion
- 1 can of bear brand milk
- 1 tsp of chicken stock powder
- Melting cheese
- Chopped carrot
- 2 eggs

Mixed everything and bake in the oven 200"c for 45 minutes.

APPLE PIE TRIAL

Tried apple pie recipe today. Recipe taken from 2 sources as I wasn't sure enough which one will be more delicious. Even though I burnt it and it doesn't look great enough to be photographed, the filling tastes great! Combination of sour and sweet. Tho my mom said it's too sour( she's a sweet tooth ) but i love it. Will make a better and fuller one next time. And it will be a photogenic one ! =D

Combined recipe used :

PIE CRUST
- 2 1/4 cup of flour
- 1/2 cup of butter
- just enough ice water

FILLING
- Green apple
- Cinnamon
- Brown sugar, enough to cover bits and pieces of the apple
- corn starch
- Flour

Put in the oven with 190" celcius for 45 mins (--supposed to be only 40 mins i think)

FOOD BACK IN MELBOURNE

I just opened up my photo folder when I was in Melbourne. I just remember that I took a lot of photograph of food that I found interesting. Enjoy!
